Located in southwest San Bernardino County, central to Los Angeles and Orange counties, Chino Airport (CNO) is a general aviation airport of choice for private owners, corporate users, instructors and aviation enthusiasts.
History of Chino Airport
Chino Airport has a rich legacy in the history of aviation in the United States. During World War II, the airport was used as a training facility for pilots in the United States Army Air Corps. It was known as Cal-Aero Academy and was one of the largest civilian flight schools in the country. The school trained thousands of pilots for the Army Air Corps and the Royal Air Force during the war.
Today, Chino Airport is a thriving general aviation facility that serves the needs of pilots and aircraft owners in the area. The airport has two runways, with the longest measuring 7,000 feet
in length. It is home to a variety of aviation-related businesses, including aircraft maintenance facilities, flight schools, and charter operators.
One of the most notable features of Chino Airport is the Planes of Fame Air Museum, which is
located on the east side of the airport. The museum features a collection of over 150 aircraft,
many of which are rare and historic.

Angeles Aviation Team
Angeles Aviation Flight School is operated by pilots for future pilots – The management team
works together to ensure that the flight school operates efficiently, effectively, and in compliance
with regulatory requirements and industry standards. Each member brings a unique set of skills
and expertise to the team, which helps to create a well-rounded and capable organization.
- Chief Executive Officer (CEO) – The CEO is responsible for overseeing the overall
operations and strategic direction of the flight school. - Director of Operations (DO) – The DO is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the flight school, including scheduling, maintenance, and safety.
- Chief Flight Instructor (CFI) – The CFI is responsible for overseeing the flight training program and ensuring that it meets regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Director of Maintenance (DOM) – The DOM is responsible for ensuring that all aircraft and equipment are properly maintained and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – The CFO is responsible for managing the flight school’s finances, including budgeting, accounting, and financial planning.
- Marketing Director – The marketing director is responsible for developing and executing
marketing strategies to promote the flight school and attract new students. - Human Resources Director – The human resources director is responsible for managing
the flight school's personnel, including recruitment, training, and employee relations. - Administrative Manager – The administrative manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day administrative tasks of the flight school, including record-keeping, customer
service, and facility management.
Flight Instructors
Flight instructors are a critical factor of our flight school as they are responsible for
providing flight training to students. All of our flight instructors are highly trained &
professional pilots. They are FAA Certified Flight Instructors (CFI) and here are some
of the key responsibilities of our flight instructors:
- Provide flight instruction - Flight instructors are responsible for teaching students how to operate an aircraft, including pre-flight checks, takeoff, flight maneuvers, and landing.
- Develop lesson plans - Flight instructors create and develop lesson plans that cover the necessary ground school knowledge and flight training skills required for a student to obtain a pilot's license.
- Monitor student progress - Flight instructors must monitor and assess student progress and provide feedback and guidance as needed to ensure that students are making progress and meeting the required standards.
- Ensure safety - Flight instructors must prioritize safety and ensure that students are flying in a safe and controlled manner at all times.
- Maintain records - Flight instructors must maintain accurate records of student progress, flight hours, and other relevant information.
- Stay current - Flight instructors must stay current with changes in regulations, technology, and best practices to ensure that they are providing the most up-to-date and effective instruction to their students.
